Turbine Control Service Acquired By Emerson

St. Louis-based Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR) has acquired Pittsburgh-based Turbine Control Service Associates Inc.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Emerson said in a statement the move will expand the portfolio of its process management business.

Turbine Control has offices in Pittsburgh and San Luis Obispo, Calif. The company, founded in 1993, makes control systems for generators including large and small steam turbines, combustion turbines and hydroelectric turbines within power plants.

Emerson had sales of $21 billion in 2010 and has more than 127,000 employees worldwide and 240 manufacturing sites.
