Three San Antonio corporations have been named to Fortune Magazineâ¿¿s 100 Best Companies to Work For list.

Insurance and financial services company USAA jumped to 17th from 45th on the list due, in large part, to its decision to extend employee health benefits to domestic partners in the last year, according to the magazine.

The companyâ¿¿s 31-acre campus also has walking trails, jogging trails and three state-of-the-art fitness centers. The company had 2009 revenue of $17.5 billion. USAA employs nearly 22,000 people nationwide.

NuStar Energy (NYSE: NS) ranked 30th on the top 100 list, down from 21st last year. The magazine notes that NuStar makes compensation a priority. If the employees donâ¿¿t get a bonus, neither does the CEO, according to Fortune. The magazine also highlighted NuStarâ¿¿s pension plan as a plus for employees.

NuStar owns and operates pipelines, crude oil storage assets and asphalt refineries. The company had 2009 revenues close to $3.86 billion, according to the magazine, and has 1,419 employees.

Rackspace Hosting (NYSE: RAX) earned a spot on the list for the first time by coming in at 92nd. Rackspace is an information technology hosting and cloud computing specialist. The company⿿s sales have growth steadily due to Rackspace⿿s emphasis on providing 24/7 tech support to clients. Sales have nearly quintupled since 2005, according to the magazine. Rackspace had 2009 revenue of $629 million and currently employs 2,405 ⿿rackers,⿝ or workers.
