Asheboro-based hosiery and apparel manufacturing company Acme McCrary will announce the completion of its 200-panel solar thermal system at a press conference Tuesday.

The system, installed by solar energy company FLS Energy of Asheville, is expected to provide Acme McCrary with 10,000 gallons of hot water daily and prevent the release of 249,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions per year, according to a press release.

Company officials did not disclose the cost of the system.

U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan, a Democrat from Greensboro, will speak at Acme-McCraryâ¿¿s press conference today. Hagan will also speak at the North Carolina Trade and Investment Seminar and Signing Ceremony in Durham.
