First Solar Gets Final OK For California Plant

By Phoenix Business Journal

First Solar can move ahead on a 230-megawatt power plant in California after receiving a final environmental OK.

The plant, AV Solar Ranch One in Los Angeles County, had been waiting for word from the countyâ¿¿s board of supervisors, which rejected an appeal to rehear the environmental plan, which had been approved by a regional planning board.

Tempe-based First Solar (Nasdaq:FSLR) expects the project to be finished by the end of 2012. It will employ about 400 workers during construction, which is expected to start this year.
