Midwest Research Institute Hires Former Department Of Energy Official

By Kansas City Business Journal

A former Department of Energy official is joining Midwest Research Institute to lead its energy management, efficiency and alternative energy practices.

David Brockman was named as MRIâ¿¿s chief energy adviser on Friday. He most recently served as director of the DOEâ¿¿s Environmental Management Office of River Protection, overseeing pollution cleanup, site closures and nuclear programs.

With 32 years in the industry, Brockman also spent nine years in executive management in the private sector.

At MRI, heâ¿¿ll lead research into energy projects and new energy technology, as well as work with the DOE and private business on environmental management.

⿿With his proven track record of management and technical excellence and MRI⿿s expertise, we are confident that Dave⿿s leadership will be an asset in continuing to support the important goals of the Department of Energy,⿝ Thomas Sack, MRI⿿s director of technical operations, said in a release.

Kansas City-based MRI helps manage the DOEâ¿¿s National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo.
