Weaver Buys Energy Consulting Firm

By Houston Business Journal

CPA firm Weaver has inked a deal to acquire Kirbyville, Texas, consulting firm L.T. Hawthorne & Associates Inc.

⿿With the growing regulatory burden facing the petroleum and renewable fuels industries, the addition of Hawthorne staff gives us the much-needed ability to expand the scope of our consulting services,⿝ said Wade Watson, partner in assurance services and leader of the renewable energy compliance practice at Ft. Worth-based Weaver.

Hawthorn specializes in operation support and regulatory compliance for energy businesses. Weaver didnâ¿¿t state the value of the deal.

Tom Hawthorne, president of L.T. Hawthorne & Associates, will continue to work in Weaverâ¿¿s Houston office during the transition as a consultant. Sandra Dunphy and Ron Chapman, directors at L.T. Hawthorne & Associates, will join Weaver as directors of energy compliance at its Houston office.

In June 2010, Weaver acquired Houston-based boutique consulting firm Bank Advisory Resources LLC.
