MIAMI ( TheStreet) --- Lennar ( LEN), the homebuilder, said fourth-quarter earnings fell after revenue from home sales declined 13%.

Lennar earned $32 million, or 17 cents a share, down from earnings of $35.6 million, or 19 cents a share, a year earlier, a period which included a $320.5 million tax benefit.

Revenue in the quarter fell 6% to $860.1 million. Revenue from home sales was $725.8 million vs. $830.2 million in the year-earlier quarter. Lennar said revenue fell primarily because of a 12% decrease in the number of home deliveries.

New orders for homes fell 5% in the fourth quarter to 2,520 homes, Lennar said.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected Lennar to earn 3 cents a share on sales of $759.8 million.
