Sprint to Sell 4G Version of RIM's PlayBook

LAS VEGAS -- Wireless carrier Sprint (S) will offer a version of BlackBerry smartphone maker Research In Motion's (RIMM) PlayBook tablet that runs on Sprint's next-generation network.

The 4G PlayBook is expected to be available this summer, the companies said Thursday.

RIM has not yet set a date for the release of a Wi-Fi-only version of the device, which it announced in September and said would be available early this year.

The PlayBook is geared toward business users and will include a touch screen that is smaller than that on Apple's ( AAPL) iPad.
