Noresco has added to its energy contract with the state of Hawaii to include $2.9 million for a photovoltaic solar system at the Kalanimoku Building in downtown Honolulu.

This latest solar energy system installation is being funded by federal stimulus funds and is part of Hawaiiâ¿¿s ongoing efforts to derive 70 percent of the stateâ¿¿s energy from clean sources by 2030, according to a statement from Noresco.

The original project, worth $33.9 million, includes improvements related to energy efficiency to Hawaiiâ¿¿s state capitol building and other state office buildings.

Noresco is an energy service company specializing in energy and environmental efficiency projects. It is a subsidiary of Carrier Corp., which is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
