Kosmos Energy Names Maxted CEO

Oil exploration and production firm Kosmos Energy has named Brian F. Maxted president and CEO.

Maxted will replace retiring CEO James C. Musselman, who stepped down on Dec. 31. to pursue opportunities with startup companies that are focusing on innovative energy products. Maxted is one of the original co-founders of the company and recently served as chief operating officer.

Musselman also left his role as chairman of the board, a position that will now be filled by John R. Kemp III.

⿿Brian has been in a leadership role since the company⿿s startup. He has been instrumental in Kosmos⿿ accomplishments and understands the company⿿s long-term objectives,⿝ said Kemp.
