Netflix to Add Streaming Button to TV Remotes

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Netflix ( NFLX) announced on Tuesday that it is partnering with most television makers to add a "Netflix" button to remote controls.

The button will allow instant access to Netflix streaming content on Internet-connected televisions. The button will be added to remotes in the spring, but the company did not specify how many TVs will have the capability.

Netflix plan to situate the button on remote controls that operate certain new Blu-ray disc players from a variety of companies including Best Buy's ( BBY) in-house Dynex brand, Haier, Memorex, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Sony and Toshiba.
