The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) board today declared an annual cash dividend of $0.40 per share, up five cents from the previous year. The dividend is payable on January 18, 2011 to shareholders of record at the close of business December 13, 2010. The January dividend payment represents the 55 th consecutive year of dividend payments to shareholders.

The Company also announced that it has scheduled its annual shareholders’ meeting for Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Salt Lake City, Utah.
