MRV COMMUNICATIONS, INC., today announced it will demonstrate Carrier Ethernet interoperability for its complete Optical Carrier Ethernet Access product series at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress, in Warsaw, Poland, Sept. 20-23, 2010. MRV, a leading provider of optical communication and IT infrastructure management solutions to service providers and enterprises around the world, will be exhibiting in booth #18 at the conference. With more than 500 senior decision makers scheduled to attend, the event is an important forum for the Ethernet networking and services industry.

The OptiSwitch® Carrier Ethernet Access series is part of the interoperability showcase conducted by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) at the show. The EANTC multi-vendor interoperability showcase will bring together leading router, switch, multi-service customer-premises equipment (CPE), and mobile equipment vendors as well as provisioning, fault management, and emulator/analyzer vendors to highlight their interoperable solutions for Carrier Ethernet services. MRV will demonstrate key feature enhancements required in Carrier Ethernet based network deployment scenarios (i.e. Mobile Backhaul and Business Ethernet Services Delivery):
  • Provide Synchronization and Timing over Packet to cell sites using IEEE 1588-2008 (PTPv2) and Synchronous Ethernet. MRV’s phase synchronization solution will be demonstrated in the word’s first public multi-vendor end-to-end phase clock synchronization test in an emulated LTE based Mobile Backhaul network.
  • Support for Ethernet OAM for Fault Management (including CFM defined in 802.1ag) and Performance Monitoring (including ITU-T Y.1731 delay/delay variation tests) for SLA (Service Level Agreement) monitoring and verification.
  • Support Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ITU-T G.8032) for Carrier Ethernet resiliency.

Mr. Draer will also present “Developing Ultra Low Latency Service Offerings,” in which he will assess the demand for ultra-low latency, review which applications are enabled through lower latency services and identify the market segments that will benefit the most from low latency.
