Austin gas prices have inched up 1 cent after three consecutive weeks of declines, AAA Texas reported Thursday.

Central Texas drivers paid about $2.56 per gallon of regular unleaded gas this week, compared with about $2.41 the same time last year. Statewide the average increased 3 cents to $2.59, versus about $2.74 nationally.

San Antonio reported having the least expensive gas this week, about $2.53, while El Paso drivers paid the most, about $2.74. Gasoline prices increased the most, a nickel, in Dallas, Ft. Worth and El Paso.
