FORT WORTH, Texas ( TheStreet) -- RadioShack ( RSH) said second-quarter earnings rose 8.6% to $53 million, or 41 cents a share, in line with the estimates of analysts.

Sales in the quarter rose 4.7% to $1.01 billion; analysts expected sales of just under $1.02 billion. Comparable-store sales rose 6.7% in the quarter.

RadioShack said the sales increases were driven by a 6.4% increase in sales from its U.S. company-operated stores, offset by a slight decrease in kiosk sales.
