Baker Hughes Inc. has appointed senior vice president and chief operating officer Martin Craighead to president.

Craighead will retain the title of chief operating officer in addition to the new position.

Craighead joined Baker Hughes (NYSE: BHI) in 1986 and has served as president of the oilfield services companyâ¿¿s drilling and evaluation group and president of subsidiaries Baker Atlas and INTEQ.

He replaces Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Chad Deaton in the role.
