Pepco will establish a hot line Tuesday afternoon, promising to provide customers without power estimated restoration times.

The utility has also brought in outside help to restore power to customers who have been without service since Sundayâ¿¿s storm.

Pepco says as of noon Tuesday, crews had restored power to more than 230,000 customers and expects to have power restored to the majority of its customers by Thursday.

⿿We understand that information is important for our customers to make plans. We apologize for the inconvenience,⿝ said Pepco Region President Thomas Graham.

Customers still without power are being directed to call 877-737-2662, the fastest way to receive an estimated restoration time, Pepco says.

About 450 utility workers from surrounding areas, many from as far away as Ohio and Pennsylvania, are in the Washington area augmenting Pepcoâ¿¿s own crews working to restore power.
