HONG KONG ( TheStreet) -- Sands China CEO Steve Jacobs left the Las Vegas Sands ( LVS) subsidiary Friday, a report says. Las Vegas Sands Chief Operating Officer Mike Leven and director Irwin Siegel will run the unit while the company seeks a replacement, said people familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal reports. Sands China is the Hong Kong-listed unit of Las Vegas Sands, the U.S. casino operator. Sands China is one of Macau's biggest casino operators. Jacobs joined Las Vegas Sands in March 2009. The news, the Journal says, comes ahead of Las Vegas Sands' board meeting next week to discuss second-quarter performance. It also comes after Las Vegas Sands Chairman Sheldon Adelson criticized Jacobs for comments he made about the company's plans in Japan in a June interview with Dow Jones Newswires. -- Written by Joseph Woelfel in New York.
