The Florida House quickly ended a special session without voting on a proposal to ban oil drilling in state waters.

The session lasted less than an hour with representatives voting 67-44 to end it.

Gov. Charlie Crist called the special session, saying Florida residents needed to be able to vote on a constitutional amendment banning drilling in November.

State law currently bans oil drilling, but the BP oil spill prompted the move to include a ban in Floridaâ¿¿s constitution.
