The state of Kentucky has $1.7 million in unclaimed stimulus funds available for its Kentucky Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program.

Those funds will be made available in the form of rebates to Kentuckians who purchase qualifying Energy Star-rated appliances on a first-come, first-served basis, according to a news release from Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshearâ¿¿s office.

During the first phase of the program, consumers could sign up for rebates prior to purchasing the appliances. But, many people who signed up for the rebates did not follow through with purchases, according to the release.

Kentucky is offering rebates on 16 Energy Star appliances sold by Kentucky retailers. The appliances include washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, room air conditioners, water heaters, central air conditioners, air-source heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, gas furnaces and gas boilers.

Consumers can apply for the rebates at, or by calling (877) 813-3669.
