ISSAQUAH, Wash. ( TheStreet) -- Costco ( COST), the warehouse retailer, said comparable-store sales in June rose 4% as total sales gained 7% to $6.87 billion. Costco said comparable-store sales in the U.S. rose 2% and international sales increased 14%. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected an increase in same-store sales of 4.2%. Excluding inflation in gasoline prices and stronger foreign currencies, comparable-store sales in June gained 3%. -- Reported by Joseph Woelfel in New York.
