DETROIT ( TheStreet) -- Ford ( F) said sales rose 13.3% in June, leading to a retail market share increase for the 20th time in the past 21 months. Product leaders included the Ford Focus, up 20.5% to 15,148 cars, and the F-Series trucks, up 29.5% to 46,502 trucks. Sales of the Ford Taurus rose 191% to 6,607, while Mercury sales rose 26.2% to 9,250 cars. Without including Volvo, Ford sales rose 15.4%.
Overall, retail sales rose 15%, primarily reflecting a 25% increase in truck sales. Cars rose 16% and utilities rose 3%. Like the rest of the industry, Ford saw a decline in sales from a month ago, reporting a decline of 13% since May. -- Written by Ted Reed in Charlotte, N.C.
