NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- The e-reader price war rages on, this time with Amazon ( AMZN) cutting its price on the Kindle DX. The new version of the Kindle DX, which is said to have a more high-tech screen that will display sharper images, will retail for $379, 22% less than the original price of $489. The device can currently be pre-ordered and will ship on July 7. This move comes after Amazon previously announced that it was slashing its price on its smaller Kindle by $70 to $189, after Barnes & Noble ( BKS) reduced its price on its Nook to $199 from $259. -- Reported by Jeanine Poggi in New York.
