EasyLink Services International Corporation ("EasyLink" or "Company") (NasdaqCM: ESIC),( www.easylink.com), a global provider of comprehensive messaging services and e-commerce solutions, today announced Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA) has signed a three year term renewal to utilize EasyLink’s FTS (File Transfer System) Enterprise Gateway and Web EDI solutions enabling operational efficiencies with their Just In Time (JIT) logistic system. TPCA originally processed their internal data files using premise-based EDI software and sent it to suppliers using two VAN providers. With a JIT logistic system in place, TPCA needed to achieve operational excellence in its supply chain application. With multiple VANs they found themselves dealing with multiple points of contact, different communication protocols and a need to commit critical internal resources to manage their EDI system. TPCA invited multiple VAN providers to bid on a proposal to consolidate their EDI traffic. EasyLink was awarded the bid by offering the most tailored solution with the highest levels of support and a single point of contact. EasyLink’s compliance with Odette, the auto industry organization that sets the standards for electronic communication, enabled TPCA to trade with 100% of their supplier base and benefit from the economies of scale in consolidating their EDI to one vendor. TPCA also outsourced their EDI translation to EasyLink removing the costs of premise-based EDI translation software, lowering resource management costs and allowing them to refocus on their key business. TPCA have minimized inventory, increased the efficiency of their JIT system, and benefited from increased accuracy resulting in higher quality and reduced errors.
