BRE Properties, Inc. (NYSE:BRE) today announced the pricing of its public offering of 7,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price of $34.25 per share. The company has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 1,050,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any. BofA Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo Securities and J.P. Morgan are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering. Subject to customary conditions, the offering is expected to close on or about April 7, 2010.

The company expects to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, which include reducing borrowings under its unsecured revolving credit facility, and may also include financing for acquisitions of rental properties, funding for development activity, the repayment of other indebtedness, and the redemption or other repurchase of outstanding debt or equity securities.
