ORLANDO, FLA. TheStreet) -- Some low-fare carriers are offering major sales as the summer travel season approaches.

An AirTran ( AAI) sale offers one-way fares as low as $44 for travel through Nov. 16. Atlanta-Charlotte is $44. New York-Los Angeles is $94, and Chicago-Orlando is $79. Booking must be completed by Thursday.

A JetBlue ( JBLU) sale offers one-way fares as low as $29 for travel between April 13 and June 16. Booking must be completed Wednesday. Boston-Charlotte is $59, Boston-Austin is $119 and New York-San Francisco for $139.

Frontier's sale extends through June 9, with booking completed by Friday. One-way fares from Denver include $69 to San Diego, $129 to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and $149 to Washington's Reagan National Airport.

The sales all offer their lowest fares for travel on off-peak days, which generally are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, and various heavy travel days are blacked out.
