FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the provider of TOTALLY Open™ data protection solutions, today announced that Chris Poelker, FalconStor vice president of enterprise solutions, will present “ Optimizing Data Protection for the New Data Center,” at the FOSE 2010 conference, focusing on virtualization and data deduplication best practices for government agencies and partners. In addition, Poelker will be signing and giving away copies of his book, Storage Area Networks for Dummies, at the FalconStor booth #2441 at 2:30 p.m. ET, on Tuesday, March 23, immediately following his presentation.

What

Although storage standardization may provide some substantial operational benefits, the reliance on traditional methodologies for critical data services are not meeting the more stringent financial and budgetary requirements of today’s IT infrastructure. In his session, Poelker will explore recent innovations and developments within storage virtualization, data deduplication, continuous data protection, WAN optimization and thin provisioning to help government agencies create more cost-effective and efficient IT data centers.

Why

There is a need for simple, comprehensive storage solutions that leverage existing assets, policies and procedures more efficiently, while at the same time reducing overall costs. Poelker’s presentation will highlight the ways in which government agencies can achieve this goal without sacrificing performance in their data centers.
