NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Pfizer ( PFE) is expected Wednesday to place an offer in the final round of bids for German generic drug maker Ratiopharm, a report says.

Pfizer officials weren't available to comment for the report from Reuters.

Other bidders include Israel's Teva ( TEVA) and Iceland's Actavis which had been requested to make final bids on Thursday at the latest, several sources told Reuters.

So far, Actavis' bid has been the highest at about 3 billion euros ($4.13 billion), including assumed debt.

Debt-laden Actavis has raised the prospect of taking the enlarged company public should it win the auction, people familiar with the sale process told Reuters.
