NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- PlayStation Move, Sony's ( SNE) motion controller for PlayStation 3, launches worldwide this Fall. PlayStation Move was showcased at a gaming event in San Francisco on Wednesday night. The device is part of Sony's PlayStation Move platform, which also includes the PlayStation Eye camera. The latter enhances the virtual gaming experience. Sony also plans to release a sub-controller to be used with the motion controller to enhance the intuitive gaming experience. Sony says the new motion controller will compete with the Nintendo ( NTDOY) Wii, which has surpassed the PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's ( MSFT) Xbox 360 in sales. Sony hasn't announced the exact date of the new product launch. The motion controller is expected to be sold for less than a reported $100 and help jump-start its console sales. -- Reported by Andrea Tse in New York Follow TheStreet.com on Twitter and become a fan on Facebook.
