SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) ¿ Roper Industries Inc., which makes products for water and energy companies, said Tuesday it completed the buyout of medical device maker Verathon Inc. In November, Roper said it would buy Verathon and traffic software and hardware maker United Toll Services for a combined $356 million. Verathon, which is based in Bothell, Wash., makes an ultrasound scanner called BladderScan, which is used to provide bladder volume measurements, and GlideScope, a small camera in a tube that allows doctors to view a patient's larynx, and insert feeding or breathing tubes more successfully. In November, Roper said both acquisitions will bring more than $140 million in revenue and at least $38 million in earnings prior to interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in 2010. Shares of Roper fell 79 cents to $52.78 in afternoon trading.
