SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) ¿ Roper Industries Inc., which makes engineered products, on Monday issued full-year earnings-per-share guidance in line with Wall Street expectations.

The company, which also reported a 24 percent year-over-year drop in third-quarter profit, said it expects to earn between $2.57 and $2.63 per share this year, a projected range that excludes one-time items.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect, on average, $2.60 per share for this year. Such expectations typically exclude one-time items.

Roper said that while its third-quarter profit declined results in the period exceeded those of the previous quarter.

"More than half our businesses experienced greater than 10 percent growth in orders over the second quarter, and this improvement in order momentum is expected to continue in the fourth quarter," said CEO Brian Jellison.

Shares closed Friday up 15 cents to $52.21.
