Positive economic news helped boost crude prices at the end of last week, and it looks like the rally is continuing Monday as oil topped $64 a barrel and was nearing $65.

Crude oil prices rose $1.32 to $64.88 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. On Friday, crude oil settled at $63.56 after gaining $1.54 on the day and more than 6% for the week.

Exxon Mobil ( XOM) shares gained 6 cents to finish at $68.52 on Friday. Chevron ( CVX) gained 23 cents to close at $65.12.

This week, many players in oil services will begin reporting earnings. Halliburton ( HAL) and Weatherford International ( WFT) are expected to report Monday morning. Halliburton lost 0.7%, or 15 cents, to close at $21.38 on Friday, while Weatherford lost 1 cent to $19.93.

BJ Services ( symbol) and Schlumberger ( SLB) also finished Friday up nearly 1% each.
