It's the last day of the quarter and things could get quite interesting if some fund managers decide to ring the register on this quarter's gains. It may or may not happen, but either way, let's take a look at what to watch in today's early session.

Story Stocks

H&R Block ( HRB): Shares are higher following fourth-quarter results.

General Mills ( GIS - Get Report): Stock is slightly higher following the company raising its dividend payout.

Apollo Group ( APOL): Online education play spiking higher after beating estimates, raising guidance.

Schnitzer Steel ( SCHN): Shares taking a hit following third-quarter loss.

Corning ( GLW - Get Report): Stock up slightly after management says it sees strong LCD demand.

Broadcom ( BRCM): Stock is slightly lower after company raised offer for Emulex ( ELX).

Johnson & Johnson ( JNJ - Get Report): Slightly higher following patent victory against Abbott Labs ( ABT - Get Report).

High-beta players will be watching Apollo today as well as competitor Strayer Education ( STRA) which may see a lift as well. Both stocks should be watched closely. The buy-high, sell-higher crowd should take notice.

Upgrades to Watch

Duke Energy ( DUK): Started as an outperform at Oppenheimer.

Amazon ( AMZN - Get Report): Cowen raises stock to an outperform.

FedEx ( FDX): Barclays raises stock to an overweight; $71 price target.

Qualcomm ( QCOM): BMO Capital Markets starts stock as an outperform; $60 price target.

Urban Outfitters ( URBN): Baird starts the stock as an outperform.

Electronic Arts ( ERTS): Merrill Lynch/Bank of America raises stock to a buy; $26 price target.

Penn National Gaming ( PENN): Oppenheimer increases estimates; $38 price target.

Illinois Tool Works ( ITW): Merrill Lynch/Bank of America raises target price to $37.

Coach ( COH): Baird starts the stock as an outperform.

Research In Motion ( RIMM): BMO Capital Markets initiates stock with outperform; $100 price target.

It will be interesting to watch Amazon today as news of the company ending multiple affiliate state deals. Can't be a good thing for revenue at some point. FedEx will also be a key tell.

Downgrades to Watch

Tesoro ( TSO): Goldman Sachs cuts stock to a sell; $12 price target.

AMR ( AMR): Argus cuts stock to a sell.

Nokia ( NOK): BMO Capital Markets initiates stock with an underperform; $11 price target.

Starwood Hotels ( HOT): Wachovia cuts the rating to market perform.

Southern ( SO): Citigroup cuts stock to a hold; $31.50 price target.

Shanda Interactive ( SNDA): Brean Murray cuts stock to a hold.

I will be watching Shanda very closely as the stock can be quite volatile. It may affect other China-based plays like Netease.com ( NTES - Get Report) and Baidu ( BIDU).

Themes/Plays

Gold ( GLD): Trading slightly lower in the early going.

Oil ( USO): Also slightly lower at the start.

Treasuries ( TLT): Bonds are lower in the early going as interest rates tick a bit higher.

I will be watching the names mentioned above as well as track any indicators from the last couple of weeks for some potential risk/reward opportunities. I'll be back with more.
