Stocks are mixed this morning as lots of retailers are posting their monthly sales updates. Let's take a look at who's seeing a pop in the early going, as well as other stocks/sectors to be watching in this morning's session.

Retail Winners

Aeropostale ( ARO), Buckle ( BKE - Get Report) and Kohl's ( KSS - Get Report) are looking positive so far.

Retail Losers

Abercrombie & Fitch ( ANF), Target ( TGT - Get Report), JCPenney ( JCP - Get Report) and Gap Stores ( GPS) are seeing some red.

Earnings Stories

SAIC Inc. ( SAI), Vail Resorts ( MTN) and Teekay Corporation ( TK) are seeing some early gains. Ciena ( CIEN - Get Report) is lower.

Upgrades to Watch

Google ( GOOG - Get Report), Adobe ( ADBE), Bucyrus International ( BUCY), JoyGlobal ( JOYG) and Broadcom ( BRCM), Goldman Sachs ( GS), Chipotle Mexican Grill ( CMG) and Coach ( COH) are all getting their ratings bumped up today.

China Plays

Baidu ( BIDU), ( NTES) and Shanda Interactive ( SNDA) have all been on a roll and should be monitored closely. I would be cautious chasing too aggressively at this point. A pullback would offer a better opportunity to get long.

Gold-Mining Stocks

Agnico-Eagle Mines ( AEM) and Randgold Resources ( GOLD) broke down a bit yesterday, but let's see how they trade as Gold ( GLD) looks to be trading higher.

High-Beta Stocks Watch

Sears Holding ( SHLD), Blackrock ( BLK) and Intuitive Surgical ( ISRG) have been acting the best recently. CME Group ( CME) and Potash ( POT) have pulled back the last couple of days.

Wells Fargo ( WFC), MasterCard ( MA) and JP Morgan Chase ( JPM) are in a bit of a slump this week. Let's also watch Bank of America ( BAC) which many analysts have been supporting since the big stock offering the company did last week.

Not a good day yesterday for companies like FedEx ( FDX) and Union Pacific ( UNP). Market needs to see this sector hold up for gains to continue.

Other Themes to Watch

Gold and Oil ( USO) appear to be rebounding in the early going. Treasuries ( TLT) are resuming the downtrend once again. Let's see if Tuesday's $90.28 low can hold. UltraShort Oil & Gas ProShares ( DUG) is pulling back this morning after a big day yesterday. Keep your eye on this to possibly rebound today.
