The stock market managed to finish higher on Friday, capping the sixth week in a row that all three major averages finished in the green.The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 5.9 points, or 0.07%, to 8131.33 on Friday, while the S&P 500 gained 4.3 points, or 0.5%, to 869.60. The Nasdaq Composite added 2.63 points, or 0.2%, to 1673.07. For the week, the Dow was up 0.6%, the S&P 500 advanced 1.5%, and the Nasdaq added 1.2%. Citigroup ( C) and General Electric ( GE) issued their first-quarter reports Friday morning, which while not pretty, were better than Wall Street expectations.
