News over the weekend that IBM ( IBM) was withdrawing its offer to buy Sun Microsystems ( JAVA) also pulled on the market, sending IBM and Sun shares down 0.7% and 23.3%, respectively. And gold fell to a more-than-two-month low on decreased demand and strength in the dollar.
