Energy Conversion Devices ( ENER) was the leader among solar stocks Thursday, finishing up 11%.

Energy Conversion rose $1.48 to $14.95. Right behind was Suntech Power ( STP), which lifted by 10.8%, or $1.36 to $13.95.

Phoenix-based First Solar ( FSLR) closed at $138.02, up $2.52 or 1.9%.

Shares of China Sunergy ( CSUN) finished at $3.32, up 2.8% or 9 cents.

Several other solar plays reversed after trading higher in the session.

Yingli Green Energy ( YGE) finished down 9 cents, or 1.38% to $6.41.

Solar Fun ( SOLF) finished at $4.40, down 10 cents or 2.2%.

Shares of Canadian Solar ( CSIQ) closed down 17 cents, or 2.5% to $6.69. Canadian Solar also beamed about its new Web site and logo in a press release.

"Canadian Solar has grown 50 fold in the past eight years and is now one of the top module manufacturers in the world," said Shawn Qu, founder and CEO. "We believe this new Web site and logo reflects more accurately our continued enthusiasm towards the promotion of solar energy.

Trina Solar ( TSL) was down 1%, or 11 cents to $10.92.

JA Solar ( JASO) shares finished down 5.3%, or 19 cents to $3.37.

LDK Solar ( LDK) was lower by 4.9%, or 35 cents to $6.80.
