Shares of most solar power stocks were lower on Friday following a big up day. On Thursday, China's solar stocks led the way after a report said the Chinese government would investment more in the development of solar energy. On the plus side, Green Plains Renewable Energy ( GPRE) was higher by 11.3%, or 29 cents to $2.86. JA Solar ( JASO) was up 8%, or 32 cents to $4.09. Yingli Green Energy ( YGE) was up 4%, or 24 cents to $6.25. Lagging were China Sun Energy ( CSUN), down 5.8%, or 19 cents to $3.06. Shares of Solar Fun Power ( SOLF) were down 21 cents, or 4.15%, to $4.85. Phoenix-based First Solar ( FSLR), in volatile trading, was recently down 71 cents to $149.68. The stock, which was downgraded Friday, has had a day's range of $141 to $154.16.
