Markets struggled but finished positive on Wednesday after a huge rally the day prior. Stocks fluctuated as investors remained cautious regarding the uncertainty surrounding the future of the banks and the broader economy.On balance, technology stocks did well. Apple ( AAPL) was up after introducing its new teeny tiny iPod shuffle, and computer giant Hewlett-Packard ( HPQ) got a lift after being upgraded by an analyst. The energy sector was a different story. An unexpected rise in petroleum supplies pushed the price of oil down about $3 a barrel. As a result, many oil and drilling companies, including Exxon Mobil ( XOM) and Chevron ( CVX), were down for the day.
