Rates start at $161 (¿109)

With the dollar at a record low in Europe, it's harder than ever to find a well-priced hotel that's also stylish. Vienna's Hotel Altstadt delivers both. Located in the Spittelberg district, the hotel has a quirky, vibrant style with strong artistic links. The owner, art collector Otto Wiesenthal, created the hotel in a 19th-century private home. The 37 guest rooms are all designed differently, and showcase works by contemporary artists. Most of the rooms have high ceilings and bright colors, and the most luxurious are the ones designed by Italian architect Matheo Thun.
