Drug developer SuperGen was jumping 10% after Lazard Capital Markets upgraded the stock to hold from sell, based on valuation. Shares were adding 46 cents to $5.07.

UnitedHealth ( UNH - Get Report) was also rising after the health insurer said it will be current with filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 15. UnitedHealth was recently up $2.10, or 4%, at $54.84.

On the flipside, Noven Pharmaceuticals ( NOVN - Get Report) sank 10% even after the company posted fourth-quarter earnings that rose 18% from the year-ago period to beat estimates. Deutsche Securities downgraded the stock to hold from buy, and shares slipped $2.55 to $22.86.

Among healthcare winners Friday, Affymetrix ( AFFX) was rising 4.8% to $26.86. NeoPharm was higher by 3.9% to $2.09. Nektar Therapeutics ( NKTR - Get Report) was adding 2.1% at $11.96.

Among decliners, Medarex was off 3.5% at $12.41. Sepracor was losing 2.9% at $50.39. Medicines Co. ( MDCO) was lower by 2.2% to $26.29.
