The Internet HOLDRs ( HHH) was Wednesday's best performer among ETFs after Yahoo! ( YHOO) surged 7.6%. The ETF was gaining $1.99, or 3.8%, to $54.42.

The Internet Infrastructure HOLDRs ( IIH) was also rising. It's holding Internap Network Services ( INAP) was higher by 4.7%. The ETF was gaining 18 cents, or 3.4%, to $5.51.

The Broadband HOLDRs ( BDH) climbed as Corning ( GLW) rose 11.2%. The ETF was tacking on 41 cents, or 2.7%, to $15.66.

Meanwhile, the Telecom HOLDRs ( TTH) was up 2.7% as holding AT&T ( T) rose 3.9%. The ETF was tacking on 95 cents to $35.93.

There were few losers for the session, but one was the iShares Silver Trust ( SLV). The ETF sank 0.4% even as silver futures rose 2 cents to $13.27 an ounce. The iShares Silver Trust was off 51 cents to $131.98.
