The iShares Silver Trust ( SLV) exchange-traded fund was one of few winners Monday as silver futures climbed by 8 cents to $13 an ounce. The ETF was gaining $1.01, or 0.8%, to $129.02.

The Biotech HOLDRs ( BBH) was also one of the winners, rising 0.3% as holding Amgen ( AMGN) was higher by 2.5%. The ETF was gaining 65 cents to $197.55.

On the other hand, the Broadband HOLDRs ( BDH) was sliding. Holding Motorola ( MOT) was falling 2.7%, sinking the ETF by 26 cents, or 1.7%, to $15.46.

Oil-related ETFs were also among the biggest decliners. The February contract, which expired Monday, pushed above the $53 a barrel level before faltering, eventually finishing lower by 86 cents at $51.13 a barrel. The iPath Goldman Sachs Crude Oil ( OIL) ETF was recently down 1.6% to $32.29. The United States Oil ( USO) ETF was recently falling 1.4% to $43.81.

The B2B Internet HOLDRs ( BHH) was also losing ground as holdings Checkfree ( CKFR) and Agile Software ( AGIL) were shedding 1.8%. The ETF was off 3 cents, or 1.4%, to $2.17.

ETFs tracking software makers were also among the losers. Among individual names, Adobe Systems ( ADBE) was giving back 1.8%, Oracle ( ORCL) was losing 1.5%, and Microsoft ( MSFT) was off 1.5%.

The Software HOLDRs ( SWH) was lower by 46 cents, or 1.1%, to $39.85. The iShares Goldman Sachs Software Index ( IGV) ETF was sliding by 39 cents, or 0.9% to $43.89.
