Deutsche Bank downgraded three chip equipment makers Tuesday, citing overcapacity in the memory market and forecasting a sharp quarter-to-quarter decline in orders this year.

The firm cut its ratings on KLA-Tencor ( KLAC) and Lam Research ( LRCX) to hold from buy and its rating on Novellus ( NVLS) to sell from hold.
