Albemarle ( ALB - Get Report) said Monday that it will raise prices on its entire line of brominated fine chemicals.

The chemicals, which are produced at its site in Port-de-Bouc, France, will see an average increase in price of 20% on a global basis.

New list prices for other products will be communicated separately to affected customers, the company added.

"In addition to this needed investment, the market value for the bromine contained in these products continues to rise," said the company. "These price increases are required in part to realize an acceptable return on our investment and in part to cover the higher value of bromine."

Shares rose $1.48 to $64.60.
