Weis Recalls Water

Weis Markets (WMK) voluntarily recalled its gallon containers of Weis Quality Spring Water.

The Sunbury, Pa., grocer cited test results that showed elevated levels of bromate in some bottles.

"While only a small portion of our gallons of Weis Quality Spring Water is affected by this problem, we are, as a precaution, voluntarily recalling all one-gallon containers of Weis Quality Spring Water," Weis said. "We will not resume production of this product until it meets FDA standards and our own internal quality control standards."

Shares rose 34 cents Friday to $38.98.
