BOMBAY -- Bombay stocks rose 1.2% Wednesday. The BSE Sensex rose 124.53 points to close at 10,876.19. Gainers Wednesday were NTPC, up 3.8%, Tata Motors ( TTM), up 3.51%, and Tata Steel, higher by 3.12%. Losers included Maruti, which dropped 0.45%, HLL, down 0.31%, and ICICI Bank ( IBN), off 0.18%. BHEL rose 2.36% on the back of news that the company got a major contract from NTPC for its Dadri thermal power expansion project.
