CKE Dishes Off Okla. Stores

CKE Restaurants (CKR) sold 38 company-operated Carl's Jr. restaurants in Oklahoma and the Wichita Falls area of Texas for $10.7 million.

The Carpinteria, Calif., burger chain operator said buyers include an existing franchisee of four Carl's Jr. restaurants, as well as members of the management team of the restaurants and other investors.

CKE, which runs Hardee's and La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill restaurants too, said the deal included the sale of substantially all of the restaurant assets, including the real property interests. The sale isn't expected to have a material impact on earnings.

The buyers will also develop 10 additional Carl's Jr. restaurants in the region.
