The Internet Infrastructure HOLDRs ( IIH) exchange-traded fund jumped 4% after Akamai Technologies ( AKAM), one of the ETF's biggest holdings, posted better-than-expected second-quarter results and lifted its full-year earnings and sales view. Shares of the software maker were recently up $6.60, or 22%, to $36.60. The ETF was recently trading up 18 cents to $4.38. Shares of the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Healthcare Provider ( IHF) ETF dropped on weakness from one of its major holdings, Aetna ( AET). The health insurer posted solid second-quarter earnings, but a tepid enrollment forecast and higher costs sent shares sliding 19%. The health care ETF fell $1.78, or 3.4%, to $50.68. The Materials Select Sector SPDR ( XLB) slid 2% after Dow Chemical ( DOW), one of its biggest holdings, offered a disappointing 2006 outlook. Dow Chemical shares recently were trading down $3.86, or 10%, to $33.42. Another of the fund's holdings, Newmont Mining ( NEM), fell 4% after it posted disappointing second-quarter results. Shares of the Materials Select ETF were trading down 63 cents to $30.27. The iShares COMEX Gold Trust ( IAU)and streetTracks Gold shares ( GLD) ETFs rose as gold futures moved higher. The price of gold was recently up $10.90 to $632.80 an ounce. Shares of the Gold Trust were recently trading up 78 cents to $62.78, while the streetTRACKS ETF advanced 68 cents to $62.68. Silver, meanwhile, was recently gaining 31 cents to $11.39 an ounce. The iShares Silver Trust ( SLV) was up $1.98, or 2%, to $113.05.
