O'Reilly Automotive ( ORLY), an auto parts retailer, said its second-quarter earnings rose 14.9% from the year-ago period. The company earned $49.3 million, or 43 cents a share, in the quarter, compared with $42.9 million, or 38 cents a share, a year ago. Analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call were expecting earnings of 43 cents a share. Second-quarter revenue rose 13.4% from a year ago to $591.2 million. Same-store sales grew 3.5% in the quarter.
